Summary, Etc. "The Storytellers: Who better to tell the Greatest Sports Stories in the HIstory of Indiana, than some of the greatest sports journalists of our time. Storytellers are prized. They help us recall, celebrate, and maybe even painfullyremember outcomes of memorable sporting events. They spend countless hours in research, waiting for an interview, and on a keyboard (or in some cases a typewriter) making final edits, so we can recall the story. There are times we may not even agree with the narrative, but one thing is for sure: without sports journalists to tell the story, we could not fully celebrate the victory, r in some cases heal from a big loss. They are scribes of our rich sports history, which by example of this book stand the test of time. Our effort to make this book a reality, started with finding some of the best sports ournalists of our time throughout the state to Indiana (plas a few young stars on the rise from our state colleges). Thanks to the following contributors who have made this book a prized possession! Bob Bridge, Conrad Brunner, Curt Cavin, Mike Chappell, Pete DiPrimio, Bob Hammel, Lynn Houser, Zak Keefer, Rex Kirts, Dave Krider, Tom Kubat, Mike Lopresti, Blake Sebring, David Woods... A two rising journalism stars: Ashley Steeb, Matthew Van Tryon." -- back cover inside flap./ "Psychologist and sociologists would study us and conclude Indiana and sports are about pride and tribal togetherness. We'll buy that. We connect through our teams and our sports, and we love them, win or lose." -- Angelo Pizzo.
